Great Bag – Too small for my computer*****

By Susan scordato

Loved the bag but had to return it. Couldn’t fit my extended keyboard laptop in it. My computer is 15.4″x1.75″x10.75″

Satisfies my needs****

By Eric Kjedeldergaard

I was in search of a bag to hold my laptop without the aesthetic appeal of ballistic nylon in basic black. I was at Wilson’s Leather in MSP when I happened upon this jewel. The laptop chamber has just enough room to hold my 17″ Macbook Pro. It is a very close fit and many 17″ laptops will probably not fit.

Although the primary influence in my purchase was aesthetics, durability factors fairly heavily into most of my purchases. This bag is no exception. The functional areas and seams seem very durable. The zippers are a potential exception. They seem like very mediocre zippers rather than the higher durability zippers that are seen on some competing bags. The main flap closure and straps are both attached with very durable mechanisms. The handle on the top is also quite well attached. The riveting in the shoulder strap (there is a belt-buckle style attachment in the shoulder strap which passes through rivets in the strap itself) could stard to be a bit stronger as well.

Having used this bag for just over a week at this point, carrying it around with my laptop and ranging from slightly full to packed-to-overflowing, the problems that I’ve noticed most (and the reason the bag is getting only 4 stars) are that the shoulder strap does not have any substantial padding to decrease the effect of the weighty bag on the shoulder, and that the laptop area is such a tight fit, even with a fairly small 17″ laptop that it presents difficulties loading the laptop into the compartment whilst the bag is fairly full.
